Meet Illy
Illy has a long list of things that she doesn’t do.
Illy doesn’t speak, or read or write.
Illy doesn’t like the schooling environment and struggles to follow instructions.
Illy doesn’t eat or drink, relying on formula and a feeding pump 24 hours a day.
Illy has poor mobility, chronic epilepsy and very little strength in her hands.
Although she is well liked, Illy struggles to integrate with friend groups.

Illy also has a long list of things that she is.
She is bold and brave and stoic and has the heart of a lion. A heart big enough, that it beats
enough for anyone around her who might need a little extra beat here or there.

Illy also carries herself with an unwavering sense of self and a fierce determination, one that our horses felt that very first day as she walked slowly into our yard. Illy brings a strong, stoic
energy, one she has forged from surviving the tough hand of cards she has been dealt.

Illy participates in one, 4hr session per week.
During her morning session, Illy assists in all farm duties. Feeding animals, collecting eggs, even making her very own garlic infused oil that she sells.

Since starting at Herd Whispers Illy has developed a strong bond with the horses. With this bond Illy has achieved amazing things.
Illy feels safe, yet strong around them.
Illys able to identify when she needs to apply more pressure, or step back.
Her agility, balance and coordination has improved 10 fold!!!
Illys confidence has soared with each new week.

Myself and the horses all love having Illy as part of the Herd Whispers team.
