There’s something powerful that happens in the moment when humans and horses interact. Right from the second that people come into our yards at Herd Whispers, our horses naturally begin to merge and blend themselves into you without words or instruction. They start to sync with your heartbeat, sometimes lowering the rate altogether, changing the chemistry in your system. It’s like the whole world goes silent and your heartbeat thumping loudly across the yard is the only thing that can be heard. Theres a calming, restorative peace that comes from our horses.

At herd Whispers we have always struggled with the quote ‘We were all created equal”.
We know we are equally free, and deserve equal rights. We know we are equally perfect by design. But some of us, some of us were created differently.

Some of us can’t always sit still in classrooms. Some of us struggle to listen to instructions. Some of us can’t always merge with others with ease, like we are expected to. And for some of us… the noise of the world is too loud and we need something to quieten it down.

For us Herd whispers that’s where the alchemy of horses comes in. This is why we do what we do. This is for the group of us who were created differently and need other ways of learning. This is for those who need teachers who aren’t our parents, or from our schools. It is for those who need guidance and regulation from other sources, like our horses. We cater for all people and all types of neurodiversity. At Herd whispers our horses help evolve self-regulation, help to develop restraint, perseverance, and will.
